OUR PURPOSE
Firefighters are constantly called upon to perform the complex, dangerous duties of the job. It is essential that crisis intervention is made available for the first responder. The Sacramento Area Fire Chaplaincy (SAFC) is dedicated to meeting those needs.
Resources
SAFC Chaplains develop a network of support resources to assist in keeping firefighters prepared to meet any challenge & to maintain a healthy work environment for the fire service personnel.
Debreifing
SAFC Chaplains identify resources & participate in the stress defusing & debriefing process when requested after a critical incident.
Traumatic Events
SAFC Chaplains assist in stabilizing personnel & victims after traumatic events in the areas of physical, emotional & spiritual unrest.
Local Service
SAFC Chaplains respond at a moments notice when a need arises.
They serve area communities helping to maintain a positive image of the fire service.
Kevin Snider
Senior Fire Chaplain
Kevin retired from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department in 2013 after 35 years of frontline service, marked by bravery and compassion. For over three decades, he’s championed the local Sacramento Area Fire Chaplaincy, evolving from peer counselor to training coordinator and crisis lead. As Senior Fire Chaplain, he offers experienced & knowledgeable support to firefighters including the local community.
